Singapore gets its first Diwali-themed train!

Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) has joined in the festival preparations for Diwali by launching a special-Diwali based train for the first time. Diwali is a festival that brings the entire country together in the happy festivities connected to it. It seems it is also bringing other cultures closer to us with the White House hosting an annual lamp lighting ceremony.

Now it’s Singapore’s time. Singapore’s famous Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) launched its first Diwali-themed train on October 15. In a series of pictures that were shared on the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Facebook page, one can see the decked up coaches with rangolis, diyas, festoons and the works also  two platforms at Singapore's Little India Station. Little India, of course is a well-known ethnic district in Singapore, a nation which lists an Indian language - Tamil - as one of its official languages, and Diwali as a public holiday.
