SC stayed death sentence of Maganlal

Maganlal Barela, who is convicted with death sentence and is supposed to be executed today morning got a relief from Supreme Court, which stayed his execution in the last minute.
Maganlal Barela was found guilty in brutal killing of his five daughters- Arti (4), Savita (5), Leela (6), Jamuna (1), and Phool Kanwar (2) has been convicted death sentence by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He beheaded his five kids while they were asleep, over property disputes within the family. His clemency petitions to convert the death sentence to life time imprisonment has been rejected by President Pranab Mukharji on July 22, 2013. Therefore, the jail officials have made arrangements for his execution at Jabalpur Central Jail at dawn on Thursday.
However, Chief justice of India P. Sathasivam has stayed his execution after the Members of People's Union for Democratic Rights have knocked his doors on yesterday late night. Maganalal Barela’s case will take by the apex court on Thursday around 10.30am.
