The body of Kirpal Singh who was declared to be dead by the Pakistani authorities in their Lahore Jail was sent to India yesterday. But an initial autopsy proved that his body was missing many vital organs such as heart and liver. Relatives of Kirpal Singh accuse the Pakistani authorities to have tortured and killed him. The relatives suspect that the vital organs were taken away to cast a veil over the cause of death. Pakistan government has earlier declared Kirpal Singh to have died out of heart attack.
Kirpal singh has crossed over to Pakistan on February 29, 1992 and was arrested on the charges of spying. Though he was initially sentenced to death on the charges of bomb explosion, later he was acquitted of the charges... but the death sentence wasn’t altered. It was not the first time that an Indian prisoners’ body was sent back in such a humiliating manner. In 2013, the body of Sarabjit Singh who used to serve the imprisonment in the same Lahore jail was sent back in a similar manner. Vital organs such as heart, kidneys and gall bladder were missing in the body of Sarabjit Singh as his body arrived to India.
