At least 28 people were killed and more than 300 were injured in the ongoing Taliban attack in Kabul. In what is considered to be one of the worst attacks in recent history of Afghanistan, the assault was carried at a densely populated place called Pul-e-Mahmud. At first a suicide bomber has blown himself out and later his associates carried the gunfire. Taliban was quick to associate itself with the attack has claimed that the assailants has entered the the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the main spy agency of Afghanistan. But the Afghanistan government denied such claims and has assured that the situation is under its control.
The attack has come just after a few days since Taliban has announced the start of ‘Operation Omari’... in honour of Taliban's late founder Mullah Omar. Even as the Afghanistan government along with US, China and Pakistan has tried to strike peace with the Taliban... they doesn’t seem to withstand any peaceful atmosphere in the country. As the forces of NATO and US has withdrawn from Afghanistan last year, Taliban seems to be gaining momentum and improving its cadre. So a Taliban ruled Afghanistan could be a nightmare that could be possible once again.
