Modi to address US congress

If everything goes right, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi might address a joint session of American congress on his visit this June. Four American lawmakers has written to US house speaker to this extent. This could be a sort of victory for Mr.Modi who was once barred to enter US. In 2005 then US government under the presidency of George Bush has rejected the visa application for Modi stating that he has posed threat to religious freedom.
That was obviously the time when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat which has experienced religious clashes after the incident of Godhra. But when Modi became the Prime Minister of the nation in 2014, then US president Barack Obama was quick to invite Modi to white house and clear the air filled with distrust. Obama too has visited India twice thereafter. No US president has visited India twice before. And Modi too might finish his term by making record number of visits to US. His score would already be 4 by this June!
