Do you love drinking coffee? If that is true, then I have some good news for you. Did you know? By drinking coffee, you are protecting your liver from many diseases. Read on to find out more.

This news has come from the nation of coffee lovers - Canada, on World Coffee Day. With 63% of them consuming coffee everyday, it made them very happy to know that they were doing a favor on their liver while satisfying their coffee cravings. So what does coffee do to protect your liver. Here’s a list of few benefits you receive by consuming a minimum of 3 cups of coffee per day.

• Improving  abnormal liver blood tests including ALT, AST and GGT
• Preventing fatty liver disease by reducing insulin resistance;
• Enhancing response to treatment for  chronic hepatitis C
• Reducing  the risk  of cirrhosis due to alcohol or viral hepatitis
• Reducing the risk of  hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer)

Now, that’s a lot, isn’t it? Most of the time, we don’t recognize a liver disease until its beyond repair. With coffee we are unknowingly saving our liver or sometimes repairing the damage caused by alcohol consumption. After a thorough research, it is advised by Seinäjoki Central Hospital and the University of Tampere in Finland, that heavy alcohol consumption must be compensated with 5 cups of coffee or more. This may undo the damage caused by alcohol.

So grab that coffee mug to save your liver!
