Puri’s began directing with the hit film “Badri’. ‘Idiot,’ ‘Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi,’ ‘Super,’ ‘Pokiri,’ ‘Dasamuduru,’ ‘Chirutha,’ ‘Bujjigadu’ and ‘Neninthe’ fell in line. Almost all were super hits. ‘Pokiri’ was a blockbuster. Then released ‘Ek Niranjan’ for which, he contributed the story, screenplay and direction. He also directed Hindi movies.Puri proved equivalent as a producer too. ‘Idiot’ was the first under his company ‘Vaishno Academy’ in 2002. Other super hits were ‘Pokiri’, ‘Shivamani’ and ‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi.’
