Mini Biography :
Prabhas Raju, popularly known as Prabhas, was born in Mogalthur in West Godavari District. He is the only cinematic son of Uppalapati Suryanarayana Raju and his brother Uppalapati Krishnam Raju. Prabhas was brought up seeing his uncle Rebel Star Krishnam Raju’s movies.
After completing his education, Prabhas evinced lot of interest in movies. Uncle Krishnam Raju was the first to encourage Prabhas. He was trained by Satyanand Film Institute where he has learnt all the basics of acting.
Prabhas made his Telugu movies debut in 2002 with the movie Eeshwar. Though this movie was an average one, Prabhas received accolades for his performance. His second movie Raghavendra (2003) was a disappointment at the box office, but Prabhas bounced back quickly with Varsham (2004). In effect, Varsham established Prabhas as a commercial hero.
Adavi Ramudu (2004) and Chakram (2005) broke down, but Prabhas already started to work with top notch Telugu movie directors. His fortunes changed with Chatrapathi (2005) directed by Rajamouli. And the movie turned out to be the biggest hit in Prabhas career. Paurnami (2006), Yogi, Munna (2007) Bujjigadu (2008) again were huge let down for Prabhas. Perhaps this is time when Prabhas started to change his style and targeted the youth.
Billa (2009) was a stylish film and has shown Prabhas in an elegant and completely different dimension. But even this attempt could not bring success to Prabhas. Backing his massy image, Prabhas once again opted for an outright commercial script Ek Niranjan (2009) and it was another downer for Prabhas and hit a new low in his career.
