Allu Arjun is an Indian film actor, son of Mega Producer Allu Aravind and grandson of yesteryear great Padmashri Late Dr. Allu Ramalingayya. He was also born in a family that has long roots in Telugu cinema industry. A natural dancer, Allu Arjun is first made his on screen appearance in the movie Daddy (2001) starring Chiranjeevi.
Spotting his passion for acting, renowned Telugu movies director K Raghavendra Rao asked him to debut in his movie Gangotri (2003). Like his cousin Ram Charan, Allu Arjun struck gold with his second film Arya (2004), directed by Sukumar and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Arya established Allu Arjun as a lover boy and bagged awards like Nandi Award (Special Jury) and Santosham Award for Best Young Performer. Allu Arjun subsequently did Bunny (2005) directed by VV Vinayak and produced by M. Satyanarayana Reddy. This success of this movie established Allu Arjun as a commercial hero and once again received Santosham Award for Best Young Performer. After establishing his identity in Telugu movies, Allu Arjun carved a niche for himself and later did several commercial movies.
Although Happy (2006) was disappointing outing, Desamuduru (2007) was a blockbuster. Soon after, Allu Arjun signed 7up (Cola brand) as brand ambassador and promoted the brand in the masses. His subsequent movies Parugu (2008) Arya 2 (2009) and Varudu (2010) did not do well, but Vedam (2010) got critical acclamation.
His current movie in filming is Badrinath, directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts banner. Tamanna Bhatia is playing the heroine.
