breath - the life changing mantra-5

 



Welcome back friends. In the previous article the three breathing spaces and the correct way of breathing was discussed. It's very important to master the breath. There should be no stress. Breathing should be very relaxed. I suggest you to continue practicing it until it becomes enjoyable.

So this week, instead of learning something new, let us continue to master the three breathing spaces.

As we master the breath, in this article let us try to understand how and when we deviated from breathing right. How and when we started accumulating negative aspects into our life. And what is the role of breath.

Even before taking birth :

We take our first breath when we are born. When in the mother's womb, we breathe through our mother. That is one of the many reasons why we keep telling pregnant women to stay calm and composed. Mother passes on lot of positive/negative emotions to the unborn child. We are thus born with these mostly negative and limiting beliefs. We carry them all through our lives at  a subconscious level.

Process of living :

Though with some limiting beliefs the new born child still breathes normally. The child grows, becomes independent and in the process absorbs lot of things from the surroundings directly or indirectly. I will give some simple examples to understand this.

When a child is still dependant on their parents, we think they cannot understand anything. But the fact is, the child can understand everything! Only that it cannot respond. At this stage if the parents fight in front of the child, the baby absorbs all the negative emotions vented by the parents. It happens so indirectly that no one is aware of what is happening. If parents had known what is actually happening I am sure they wouldn't do that in front of the child!!


Some direct ways of accumulating and absorbing negativity is actually when we are  experiencing the situations. We just push down the emotion through our breath. For example, when we see anything that we are afraid of, automatically we hold the breath. At this moment, the natural flow of breath is interfered and the fear is locked inside the body. After sometime we may appear to breathe normally but it has already induced fear. Because of many such experiences our breathing pattern slowly changes.
So friends, breath is a hologram.

A person who has mastered breath can understand and identify why and how different a person breathes when he/she has problems.
 
Let us become that master.
