Sundeep Kishan’s Sigma has locked October 2 as its worldwide theatrical release date, giving the sleek heist action-adventure a significant advantage at the box office. Starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, the film marks the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of actor Vijay, and has already attracted attention for its stylish treatment and technical scale.

The Gandhi Jayanti holiday gives the film an extended opening weekend, allowing it to target strong advance bookings right from the start. More importantly, the Dussehra festive period follows soon after, giving Sigma the opportunity to sustain its theatrical run if the film manages to connect with audiences.

The film has been building curiosity through its promotional material. The teaser introduced Sundeep Kishan in an intense avatar and hinted at a world revolving around heists, money and adventure. The songs composed by S Thaman, including “Sigma Style” and “Olammo Vagaladi,” have added to the buzz, while the trailer is expected to take the promotions to the next level.

Produced by Lyca Productions, Sigma now has a commercially favourable release window. The real test will be whether Jason Sanjay can convert the stylish packaging and strong promotional buzz into theatrical word-of-mouth.
