L2 Empuraan leads while Robinhood and Mad Square stumble

Mohanlal is one of tbe biggest superstars of Indian Cinema based in Malayalam Cinema. He delivered many memorable classics and blockbusters but in recent times, his films did not attract much box office interest. Changing that perception, his big blockbuster Lucifer sequel, L2E: Empuraan, has shocked everyone with its pre-bookings.
The movie's release till last one week had been in big dilemma due to the financial cruch, Lyca Productions is facing. Sree Gokulam Movies came into picture and assisted the makers in smooth release. The makers did not promote it too much but the reports suggest that the movie has earned Rs.55 crores from just pre-bookings.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, another big star of Malayalam Cinema, directing the movie has also increased its buzz and trailer consolidate the hype for the film. On BMS app, we can see Empuraan leading over every new scheduled release of this week with 434.9k likes while Salman Khan's big Eid film, Sikandar is at 326.8k likes.
Interestingly, rather shockingly, Nithiin and Sreeleela starrer Robinhood is lagging behind with 86.5k likes while Mad Square did little better with 87.1k likes. Both the films promotions have been going on at full pace with social media content being released twice or thrice everyday.
It is hard to not find Nithiin or Sreeleela promoting Robinhood but the film is not showing results at the same level. Even David Warner has started participating in reels and he came to pre-release event, a controversy has also happened, still the interest rate around the movie seems to be below MAD Square.
Lucifer released way back in 2019, and the sequel is releasing 6 years later. Yet the bookings are phenomenal. Mad released two years ago and it became one of the most talked about and shared films, still, it appears to have not ignited great buzz for its sequel. In fact makers started promotions, six months ago for the film.
Still, it did not cross 100k interests and bookings are not at the expected level, too. Even Robinhood is also suffering similarly, while it is not a sequel, the makers have been promoting it non-stop from past three months and in last one month, they have intensified it even more.
Looks like the highly promoted films are struggling big time to even stay in competition with OG superstars charisma. Unfortunately, Chiyaan Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran has been unable to capture any amount of attention in this Ramzan box office battle with 33.9k likes till date.
