Karthik Subbaraj: Suriya 44 is an action love drama

Karthik Subbaraj has established himself as a big director with films like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Petta, Mahaan, Jigarthanda DoubleX. He is working with Nadippin Nayan Suriya for his upcoming film, Suriya 44. The writer-director has made it his trademark to make gangster dramas and hence, even Suriya44 is expected to be another one from him.

But the director talking to a Tamil Podcast Channel clarified that he is not making a gangster drama with Suriya. He stated that the movie is a romance and its core is a cute love story. He stated that he always wanted to make a love story and finally, got a chance to make one that will be talked about.

He further stated that the movie is an action love drama and it has huge action set pieces but it is a love story. He remarked that he got excited to work with Suriya and Pooja Hegde before making the film. Later, he expressed his happiness for being loved by Suriya and being mentioned as his brother.

The director stated that Suriya has been sweet and highly friendly towards him. He called their bond as something beyond a working relationship. Suriya, on the other hand, dropped hints about Rolex, being a film that is connected to his earlier one.

Now, fans are busy imagining him in a love story after a long time and thinking about the probable connection between Vikram movie's Rolex and his older films.
