DSP's copy comments ignite trolls on Thaman

on Mar 15, 2025

Devi Sri Prasad, DSP, the renowned music director of Indian Cinema, especially, Telugu Cinema, has made interesting comments in an interview. He stated that he doesn't encourage remixes and copying tunes. He remarked that he loves to work on his original ideas and is open for inspiration but not copy.

Explaining the difference, he stated that listening to a song and trying to make something like that is different from copying the instrumentation and even the tune. He made it clear that he is against such copying and even he faced many incidents when directors asked him to remix and he quit the film.

Now, his comments have given some fuel to haters and trollers on social media to attack Thaman. They started insinuating the remarks as his remarks against Thaman. As the Akhanda composer keeps facing trolls on his compositions as copy and too loud, these comments have given a huge tool to attack him, again.

Well, Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman are very good friends and they do not have such ego issues to attack each other. Even for Pushpa 2 BGM, Thaman clarified with DSP to try his hand and not to take it as any sort of animosity. So, even social media people should be avoiding such unnecessary ignition between two popular composers.
