Ashwini Dutt talks about Kalki 2898AD success?

'Kalki 2898 AD' is a sci-fi epic magnum opus directed by visionary filmmaker Nag Ashwin. In this visual wonder, Indian biggest superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone acted in lead roles. Famous producer C. Adhwini Dutt produced the film under Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The mythology-inspired sci-fi visual wonder 'Kalki 2898 AD' was released on June 27th and entertained audiences from all walks of life across the globe, receiving unanimous epic blockbuster success and running house full with record breaking collections. In this context, producer C. Ashwini Dutt shared the highlights of 'Kalki 2898 AD' in a press conference.
What are your predictions on Kalki 2898 AD ? How did the result meet your expectations? How happy are you?
I am very very happy. From yesterday's morning show, there was a overwhelming positive report from the Telugu states, Mumbai, Madras, Bangalore and all over the world. It was such a resounding success that I expected it to be. Hatsoff to Nag Ashwin. I am very very happy.
Nag Ashwin's last two films are very sensible. When did you get the confidence that he could handle a subject with such depth?
We have been traveling with him since his first film. I have confidence from the beginning that he can make any big film. That's what I told my girls. I told him to jump immediately on whatever subject he mentioned. A director is found in our house in this century (laughs).
'Bujji' (car) also played a key role in this.. How did you feel when director said this idea?
All this is Nag Ashwin's vision. When I was told about this concept, it felt amazing. It was presented very well in the movie.
Do you have an idea for part 2 when you think of this story?
The thought of part 2 came when I thought of this story. Part 2 was decided after Kamal entered. Kamal has an excellent character.
When will part 2 release?
The part 2 shoot completed almost 60% excluding few major portions. Somewhere next year may come around this time.
About the Rajamouli-Prabhas episode?
Rajamouli-Prabhas episode is funny. Also the audience is enjoying the cameos of Brahmanandam and Ram Gopal Varma.
How many more parts can come in Kalki Cinematic Universe?
First there will be two parts. Let's see how it will be after the script.
About upcoming movies from Vyjayanthi Movies?
There will be a film with Srikanth's son Roshan titled Champion and it will be launched next month. Also we are doing a film with Dulquer Salmaan.
