Will Kanguva shock everyone at the Oscars?

Kanguva starring Suriya, Disha Patani has become a huge disaster at the box office. Social media trolls picked on producer K.E. Gnanavelraja's bold and exaggerating statements prior to the release stating the movie will hit Rs.2000 crores at the box office and will be Kollywood's Baahubali film.

Now, the movie has shocked everyone by making list of contenders to Oscars 2024, which will be conducted in 2025. A total of 6 Indian films have made the list of 323 contenders - Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life, All We Imagine as Light, Girls Will Be Girls, Santosh, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar and Kanguva.

Veer Savarkar and Kanguva films are big surprise for everyone but mostly, Kanguva shocked many. Once again trolls, who have been dormant about the movie have got activated and even more creative. While the trolls are understandable, the million-dollar question, how did Kanguva make the list?

Jai Bhim, starring Suriya, earned huge amount of respect among Hollywood filmmakers and it could have influenced few people to take Kanguva into consideration. While the chances of it winning is low, this would be a huge boost for the filmmakers to talk about it. Siva directed the film and movie makers are aiming a second part.
