on Nov 7, 2024

Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen unveiled the trailer of Vikkatakavi: The Chronicles of Amaragiri, which is pitted to be Telangana's first-ever detective series and it is premiering on November 28 on ZEE5. Produced by Ram Talluri of SRT Entertainments, directed by Pradeep Maddali and written by Teja Desharaj, this period thriller delves into the rich history and mystique of Telangana, unraveling the mysteries of the Amaragiri province.

Naresh Agastya, in his second collaboration with the platform after the blockbuster Paruvu, takes on the lead role of Ramakrishna, a young detective uncovering a chilling mystery in the heart of the 1970s Nallamalla Forest. Megha Akash joins him as the royal princess Lakshmi in this mystery thriller.

Set in the soon-to-be-submerged province of Amaragiri, Vikkatakavi follows the story of Ramakrishna, a detective called upon to investigate a strange mystery – villagers are losing their memories after entering the Nallamalla Forest at night, and they believe it to be the curse of a goddess. As Ramakrishna digs deeper, he uncovers a far darker secret involving a historical conspiracy, political intrigue, and the tragic death of the king’s son.

As he gets closer to the truth, he discovers shocking revelations about Amaragiri’s past. As the province is on the brink of being submerged under the Krishna River, all the secrets of Amaragiri will be buried forever—unless Ramakrishna can solve the mystery in time.

Naresh Agastya shared his thoughts, “Playing Ramakrishna in Vikkatakavi has been an exciting and challenging experience at the same time. As a young detective, Ramakrishna is driven by a personal mission to uncover the truth, and his journey is filled with twists that test his resolve and intelligence. What I love about this role is his depth—he's not just solving a mystery, but also dealing with his own mysterious past. The character’s resilience and determination to uncover the truth despite overwhelming odds make him truly admiring and worth watching. I’m eagerly looking forward to the premiere and confident that audiences will love the thrilling story and the layers of mystery we've created.”

Producer Ram Talluri expressed his excitement, "We are thrilled to bring Vikkatakavi to life, marking a significant milestone with Telangana's first-ever detective series. This project is especially close to my heart as it beautifully combines the rich cultural heritage of Telangana with an intriguing, suspense-filled story. In addition to Vikkatakavi, we are also excited to see the release of two more films, Matka and Mechanic Rocky, as part of our growing collaboration with ZEE5. It’s truly a prestigious partnership, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a dynamic platform. We are looking forward to audiences embracing this exciting journey with us."

Director Pradeep Maddali said, “I am beyond excited to bring to life a story that fuses mystery, historical intrigue, and rich cultural heritage, all set in the mystical province of Amaragiri. The show immerses viewers in the 1970s Telangana, with its lush landscapes and ancient traditions, providing a fresh and fascinating backdrop for the detective thriller. With exceptional performances by Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash, I am confident that audiences will be gripped by this complex and layered story. The trailer is just a small taste of what’s to come—packed with high-quality production, stunning periodic sets, and a suspenseful storyline. There is so much more in store, and we are thrilled for everyone to join us on this exciting adventure starting November 28 on ZEE5."
