Will Rajamouli’s Dad Succeed As Director?

History says that, only few successful writers have become successful directors, but most have failed to make their mark as directors. Dasari Narayana Rao, Jandhyala, Trivikram Srinivasa Rao, Koratala Siva are few of the writers who had become successful as directors.

Ace director SS Rajamouli’s dad Vijayendra Prasad has provided stories for several successful films. But, he had failed as director. His debut directorial Ardhangi released in 1996 was a disaster. After 10 years, he directed another debacle ‘Sri Krishna’.

Rajanna released in 2011 was last directorial of Vijayendra Prasad. Though expectations were high, since Rajamouli supervised action and few key sequences, it turned out as a critically acclaimed but commercially failure venture.

Vijayendra Prasad is testing his luck again with an upcoming Telugu socio fantasy film Srivalli which is due for release. The film’s audio will be launched on 23rd of this month. Rajamouli will be attending the event along with few other guests.

But, audience will encourage the film if and only if it has pleasing content. Prasad has many hopes on it. Will he succeed as director this time? We need to wait and see…
