Venkatesh says he cannot do films like Gharshana

Venkatesh has delivered huge blockbusters and cult films in his almost four decades long career. He has a huge fan base and got a name as "Ajathashatru - a Man with no haters, enemies", over the years. He delivered a huge blockbuster with Sankrantiki Vasthunnam this Sankranti.
The actor did not receive similar reception for his solo starrers for a decade. But his goodwill among audiences and combination with director Anil Ravipudi, has been able to make this film such a huge success. Family audiences are rushing to the theatres to watch the film and it is creating huge record in his career.
Last year, he tried a big action entertainer, Saindhav, which became a huge box office disaster. Maybe that experience has made him think about not being part of such films. At his Sankrantiki Vasthunnam Thank You Meet, he replied to a fan, who shouted, "We want films like Gharshana", that he can no longer be part of them.
He funnily exclaimed that he would have to build a six pack body for such roles and it is difficult at his age. He remarked that he did show his thighs and in a comical way asked him to be happy with that. He reiterated that he is happy with family entertainers and he would continue doing such entertainers.
But Venkatesh is known for trying out-of-the-box concepts like Guru from time to time. After few successful films, we think he shouldn't alienate from such concepts and be part of all kinds of films, like how his fans wish.
