Veerudokkade Review :
Veerudokkade' is the dubbed version of Tamil Blockbuster movie 'Veeram' starring Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar and Tamannah on the lead roles. The movie release on Shankaranthi this year in Tamil and bagged massive revenue at the box office. Business in Telugu needs to be seen after a couple of days. Here is the review of 'Veerudokkade'
Story :
The movie revolves around the life of Ajith and his four brothers. Ajith is like the godfather for the younger ones as they lose their parents during childhood itself. Ajith is a staunch bachelor and is rigid and confident about not getting married. He is a hard-working person and is subtle until something goes wrong. He sacrifices all his happiness to keep his brothers happy. The best part is that, Ajith even doesn't encourage his brothers to get married. The family lives a luxurious life set up in a village backdrop. Tamannah walks into the the story after a while and Ajith's brothers do every possible drama to get the duo closer to each other. Ajith also has a personal attraction to Tamannah but never reveals it until the last moment. Santhanam plays the role of a legal advisor of Ajith's family and his comedy tracks blend in pretty well with the film. Ajith also portrays a good amount of humor in the film.
Tamannah's family believes in a peaceful life and Nassar plays the role of Tamannah's father. In a small controversy that happens, Tamannah gets to know that Ajith is not a soft guy in reality. Instead, he is a tough person who had gone through lot of action in life but all of them for the right cause. Spice begins in the second half !!! Does Ajith change his character for his love ? Will Tamannah accept Ajith after knowing the truth ? Does Ajith's brothers get married or not ? is all shaped up well in the second half.
Technical Prospective :
The village backdrp of the film is shown in a very natural manner. Cinematographer Vetri has done a fabulous job in showing every artist at their best. Ajith looks amazingly raw and that credit also goes to the camera man. The set of the film has no flaws at all. The songs are one aspect that falls off sync. The movie travels in a village but the songs are all quite peppy and most locations are abroad. It doesn't really match well.
Music :
Devi Sri Prasad did try to do a good job but not all the songs are great. They do not look like the typical DSP composition. The title song is a foot tapping number and the melodies are not up to the mark. Music can be considered average for a mass flick like 'Veerudokkade'
Action :
Stunt Master Silva has extracted the best out of Ajith. With a hefty personality, Ajith did do a fare job in action. Silva made sure that no stunt scene looked animated or unrealistic. With Veeram, Silva will gain critical acclaim for his choreography in action. Fight sequnces involving Ajith and his four brothers is one highlight in the film.
Hero and Heroine :
Ajith's salt and pepper look went classy on screen. His mass appearance with White Shirt and a Dhothi was the attraction. He performed his role in perfection except for dance. He did try some movements, but those cannot be compared to his other skills.
Tamannah had nothing much to do in the film although she was present throughout the journey. She was that typical glam doll of South movies. However, her performance will attract the youth. There is definitely a difference between her previous movie and Veerudokkade.
Conclusion :
'Veerudokkade' is great for a one-time watch. It has got the right essence of drama, romance, action, comedy and sentiments. The film will mostly be attractive for the mass crowd as the rawness of the film won't appeal the cream crowd to a great extent. On the whole, 'Veerudokkade' is a feast for all Ajith Fans !!!
