Varun Tej shares surprise on Matka getting U/A

Varun Tej is one of the few actors from Telugu Cinema, who is not bothered about his image but has a penchant to try something new with his each film. He is now coming up with Matka, which is slated a big release on 14th November and it is a gangster flick based on a goon from Vizag in 60's and 70's. 

The actor talking to media about the film expressed his surprise over movie receiving U/A certification while he himself expected "A". But he promised that the movie will not have any over the top objectionable content but hard-hitting realistic story of a gangster who rose from rags to riches. 

He also stated that the movie doesn't glorify a criminal but tries to talk about the journey of Vasu, who is a refugee and who saw hardships. He stated that Vasu grows aversion towards society as nobody helps him and runs after money. So, where does it land him and what happens to him, is the story of the film. 

Varun also shared that the team worked hard to keep things authentic and production values, technical standards in the film are high. He also shared huge belief on director Karuna Kumar and stated that the director just needed someone to trust him with a big film and people will love Matka.

The gangster drama has Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi in leading lady roles and GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the film.
