Gunashekhar Refuses M S Statements
on Jun 12, 2011
Director Gunashekhar refuses Producer M S Reddy's controversial statements against him in his autobiography Idi Na Katha. M S Reddy termed Gunashekar as most wicked person he has ever seen in his life. Currently autobiography penned by the producer is raising many eyebrows. Reacting to the allegations made on him by M S Reddy, he clears airs terming Reddy's autobiography as fictional story. Countering to producers remarks, director Gunashekhar alleges that, when his directed film Sogasu Chudatarama produced by his brother K. Ram Gopal has got no distributors and indeed Reddy impressed with my work promised me to buy his movie. But to my dismay he didn't kept his promise and led us to bear hefty loss and we were drowned in deep financial troubles.
Gunashekahar added saying, despite deceiving us I have decided to make a movie with the producer M S Reddy because he is only one who appreciated my effort and talent. Then I came up with an unique idea to make epic Ramayanam starring Jr.NTR and other with other child artists. Thus I made Bala Ramayanam movie which got very good acclaims and Jr.NTR indeed won National award for his acting skills in the movie.
When M S Reddy asked me to come up with a commercial film then for Reddy's gratitude I went on to make another movie Okkadu with the same producer. When we are about to shoot Telugu movie Okkadu, my Mrigaraju with Chiranjeevi released and eventually bombed at the box office. By looking at the lukewarm response to my Mrigaraju movie, M S Reddy went to Telugu cinema hero Mahesh Babu and said him to change director(Gunashekar) and took a backseat. After M S Reddy dropped idea of producing Okkadu, then I approached M S Raju who supported me irrespective of flops and success and agreed to produce his dream project. Both hero Mahesh Babu annd M S Raju have given a great support to me til the end of shooting for Okkadu.
Director Gunashekar claims that, he along with Jr.NTR agreed to make a movie for M S Reddy but the project didn't go on to floors. The reason for which is well know to producer Reddy only. However Gunashekhar insists not to give much attention to M S Reddy's statements as M S Reddy himself termed it as his story(Idi Na Katha) but not as any autobiography. It is mere a fictitious more than his conscience.
