Last year for Sankranthi, Sharwanand scored a super hit with Express Raja, despite presence of few biggies. This year for the festival, the young hero is coming up with a family entertainer Shatamanam Bhavati, though Chiru’s 150th and Balayya’s 100th films released in the festival week got optimistic response from public. Let’s see whether Sharwa repeat the Sankranthi sentiment this year too or not!
Story:
Raghava Raju Garu (Prakash Raj) and his wife (Jayasudha) live an amicable life in their village and they are taken cared by their grandson Raju (Sharwanand). Their only wish is to spend some time with their sons and daughter who live in overseas. They don’t even visit the parents at least once in a year. Then, Raju Garu sketches a master plan to bring his children back home for Sankranthi festival which disrupts relation with his own wife. Meanwhile, Raju falls in love with his foreign maradalu Nithya (Anupama Parameswaran).
What’s Raju Garu’s actual intent? Did it work out? What happens to Raju and Nithya’s love?

Analysis:
Shatamanam Bhavati has shades of several previous Telugu films. Still, it has some pleasing moments here and there for families. Off late, younger generation is not caring much about traditions, ethics and human relationships. In our busy lives, we are just bothering about earning dollars, rather enjoying ourselves and sharing joy with our family members. Festivals are meant to celebrate with families and relatives, but the real meaning has been changed these days. Celebrating festivals is a time waste process in the era where everything is calculated in money. There is a dialogue in the film- ‘Gadichina Rojulu Eppatiki Bavuntaay’, which brings back our old and golden memories.
Artists Performances:
Prakash Raj is the real hero of the film. Though he was seen in such role previously, he once again makes strong impact with his brilliant performance. In fact, he appears to be our father or grandfather according to age groups. PR nailed it with his ‘show’ in climax. Jayasudha has paired up with him yet another time. She was emotional throughout.
Sharwanand is picking different subjects and he apparently did this film to gain support of family audiences. Sharwa is not known as a star but an actor, thanks to the variety of films he is doing. Shatamanam Bhavati is certainly a special film for him. He appeared cool and gave mature performance.
Anupama Parameswaran is a cute pie. She gave settled performance. Sharwa and Anu’s chemistry was rocking.
Naresh was funny. Praveen and other comedy batch provided laughs. Other artists were okay.
Technical Aspect:
Director Satish Vegesna penned for several super hit films and has opted to a regular story for his directorial debut. However, he took care on writing engaging screenplay. Though there were ups and downs, family audiences will love the heart-touching emotions. Lead characters were well written. In fact, he gave a strong message to youth who are uncaring of their parents and their feelings.
Music by Mickey J Meyer is fascinating. Songs as well as background score are big add-on for the film. In fact, music plays crucial role in films of such concepts. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is vibrant. Editing by Madhu is mediocre. Production values of Sri Venkateswara Creations are good.
Verdict:
Family audience who like feel good entertainers will definitely enjoy the film. It should do well in multiplexes and A centers, wherein chances are less for it do well in mass centers.
