on Jul 28, 2016

In a major twist in the tale, the witness in the Salman Khan chinkara poaching cases has resurfaced and alleges he was threatened. Harish Dulani, the jeep driver who is a key witness in the chinkara poaching cases against Khan, said on Wednesday that he was only lying low because his family was threatened. “I was scared when my father and mother were threatened. Hence, I decided to shift to another place for a few days,” Dulani told news reporters adding that he took shelter with his relatives. "I stick to the statement I made before a magistrate 18 years ago," Mr Dulani said today, adding, "I am not an absconder. My father received threats, I got scared and left home.

If I had police protection, I could have given a statement. That was what I always intended". Dulani was sacked by the owner of the Gypsy. He says over the years, he has shifted home multiple times and could never hold down a job for fear of being recognized and targeted. On Monday Salman was acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur which held that the pellets recovered from the animals were not fired from Khan's licenced gun.
