Sai Kumar’s Comments Should Clear Rust
on Jul 22, 2015
“Every day I feel like a newcomer who has stepped into Tollywood. Despite winning a couple of Nandi awards and Filmfares, I’m not getting any original roles written for me. They are written for someone else and somehow landing up in my lap”, said Sai Kumar, the other day. Does that ring any bells?
Long back even a sensational actor like Kota Srinivasa Rao has accused that Telugu directors are more inclined towards character artists from other languages rather our own filmdom. And Sai Kumar’s comments just second that. Probably Tollywood should make best use of local talents like Kota, Sai Kumar, Rao Ramesh, Ajay, Subbaraju and others rather depending on Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood, Mukesh Rushi, Sayaji Shinde say insiders. Saikumar’s comments are clearing the rust in the ears of many, but there is another dimension to it.
Films have no boundaries and barriers in the first place. If a movie like Bahaubali is running successfully in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam, then the first thing is that the actors inside this film should click in all languages. It’s not that Telugu film should have Telugu actors only, but of course, preference should be given.
