Happy Birthday S P Balasubramanyam
on Jun 4, 2014
Singing genius and Gaana Gandharva Sri S P Balasubramanyam turns 68 today. There has never been a day in any South Indian Household where his songs have not been played on the radio. The singing maestro has been singing for over 48 years and continues to regale the audience with his lilting voice. Born with music in his genes this should –have –been and engineers tryst with music began in 1966 and his career graph took an upward drive in the 1970s and with every decade has seen the pinnacle of success.
Singing with every music director in all the four south languages for all the major heroes and artists , he also forayed into the national scene with K Balachander’s Ek Duje Keliye in Hindi. He was the singing voice of Salman Khan for Maine Pyaar Kiya for which he won the Filmfare Award. With more than 45000 songs to his credit in different languages, Balu as he is lovingly called is a singer, music director, composer, actor , dubbing artist and now in his latest role as a mentor through his program Paddutha Theeyaga in a popular TV Channel, he is encouraging new talent and singers to the film Industry .The program which has been running successfully for more than a decade has given us new talent like Usha , Krishna etc. He is also encouraging children to sing through this program and successfully conducted this program in the United States of America too.
The wonderful aspect is that he has dispelled many stories about his success and rivals through this program and he also gives us an insight about how music was composed in the older days , how the great composers/lyricists that whom he worked with created magic and what should be learnt from them. Even after 45 years of his singing career he calls himself a student of music and is still learning, which only shows his humility and passion for music.
We at TeluguOne wish our Balu a very Happy Birthday and may he continue to sing & compose music for many more years… signing of like how it is said in the radio “padinavaru SP Balu “ which we will hear for many years to come…
