Regina Cassandra has reacted to the ongoing debate surrounding Janhvi Kapoor's comments on the objectification of her character in Ram Charan's upcoming film Peddi and Radhika Apte's experience working in Telugu cinema. Speaking during the promotions of Mookuthi Amman 2, Regina urged actresses to take a stand when they feel uncomfortable with a character or a project's portrayal rather than raising concerns years after its release.
Regina said actors have every right to walk out of a film if they disagree with its concept or the way their characters are presented. While she welcomed actresses speaking about their experiences, she expressed concern over comments that could create a North-South divide. "I have a problem when a North Indian actor speaks about South Indian cinema in a way that creates a North-South divide," she remarked.
She also questioned Janhvi's approach to the issue, stating that actors should exercise their choice during production. Regina pointed out that filmmaking processes and script-sharing practices differ across industries, but maintained that performers should have the freedom to say no when they are uncomfortable.

Interestingly, Regina brought up her own experience with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, which backed Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2. Despite playing Akshay Kumar's wife, Parvathy Nair, in the film, she alleged that her name was excluded from the promotional campaign without any explanation.

Regina further revealed that a song featuring her throughout was released without tagging her or even informing her about it. Questioning the treatment, she said, "Janhvi Kapoor has spoken about being objectified in a Telugu film in Karan Johar's show. The same Karan Johar, whose Dharma Productions film I acted in, has decided not to promote me in Kesari 2. My name was dropped from the promotions without any explanation. They released a song featuring me but did not even tag me. What am I supposed to call this?"
Her comments have added another dimension to the debate, bringing professional recognition and alleged regional bias into the conversation. While Regina insists that actresses should speak up and exercise their choices, she also believes that such discussions should not turn into a North-versus-South confrontation.
