Pushpa 2 makers did not use Thaman's BGM for the film?

on Dec 3, 2024

Pushpa 2 The Rule makers have rushed to complete the film for 5th December release while the shooting did not complete till November last week. They completed and locked first half in October but they had to complete second half while shooting simultaneously.

During the time, Devi Sri Prasad could not allocate dates as many as Sukumar needed for the second half to compose Background score. So, the makers have brought in S Thaman and even Sam CS to compose background score. Thaman has been in the news for openly stating that he is part of the project.

But DSP publicly showcased his anger towards Mythri Movie Makers on stage at Chennai and then, he continued to compose for second half while Sam CS also did his part. Actually, the makers wanted to see if someone else can compose even better BGM than DSP in the meantime. They cut few sequences and then gave to other composers.

Apparently, while finalising the edit, Sukumar did not like some portions with Thaman's music but did use Sam CS music, it seems. The composer has thanked the makers for making him part of the film while Thaman is silent. Sukumar acknowledged DSP's BGM for the climax of Pushpa 2 and this rises questions if Thaman's music at least used anywhere.

As the movie is going to release with premiere shows on 4th December, the answer will be known to everyone in just 30 hours more. Allu Arjun is playing the coveted Pushpa character again in the second one and he will reprise in third one, Pushpa 3 The Rampage as well.
