Why Puri Targeted Bhimvaram Boys?

on Jun 13, 2015

Puri Jagan carved a name for himself for throwing stark satires on society with his witty comments inside his movies. In recently released “Temper” too, he has told “Kukka Tatvam” (Dog Philosophy), throwing a satire on insensitivity of people. Here goes Puri again.

Charmi’s “Jyothi Lakshmi” has enough punches thrown by this talented director on people, God and system. But in one scene, he targeted youths of Bhimavaram for their exaggerated behaviour. As a guy dances quite excitedly and showcases his playboy nuances to a call-girl, that girl asks if he is from Bhimavaram? As the guy asks how come she knows about it, that call-girl says ‘Only Bhimavaram people do such extras”.

Probably this is a satire of money-rich Bhimavaram folks who hire call girls and dancers for entertainment. However, as Puri generalised the statement, film lovers from that Godavari district town are fuming on him.
