ETV Betting Big On Nagarjuna
on Nov 30, 2016
K Raghavendra Rao directed Annamayya changed life of King Nagarjuna who later acted in couple of other devotional flicks like Sri Ramadasu and Shirdi Sai helmed by the same director. The duo is currently working for yet another devotional movie Om Namo Venkatesaya which is based on the life of godman Hathiram Baba who was an ardent devotee of lord Balaji.
Coming to the actual point, satellite rights of Om Namo Venkatesaya have been sold for career best price for Nagarjuna. As per sources, ETV is betting big on the film by bagging the rights by shelling out staggering Rs 12.5 crores. Usually, ETV won’t invest such big amounts, but it seems like they have good faith in the KRR directorial.
Nag’s last movie Oopiri Telugu and Tamil satellite rights were sold for Rs 14 crores. Now, Telugu version of Om Namo Venkatesaya alone fetched almost equivalent price of Oopiri.
Meanwhile, Om Namo Venkatesaya is nearing completion. Currently, post production works are underway. As disclosed by Nagarjuna, composer MM Keeravani seek nearly two months of time to complete re-recording work, since BGM is key for such films. The makers are planning to release the film by February end, if things go as planned. If not, they will release the film in March.
