Story
Manasa (Richa Gangopadhyay) comes to Italy for her higher studies and she meets Jai (Prabhas), an architect over there. Very soon, Manasa falls for Jai but informs him that she cannot lead a happy life due to her family background. Jai decides to go to India and change the mindset of Manasa' family. But is that the only reason for Jai to come to India ? What obstacles Jai face during this journey? How is Jai related to Manasa' family ? All these elements forms the rest of the story.
Analysis :
Mirchi starts off with a stylish and stunning entry of Prabhas and the director tried to engage the first 20 minutes with some pleasant encounters between Jai and Manasa. Slowly the story is shifted to India and Jai befriends Manasa' brother Subbaraju. Brahmanandam's entry gives the hope to audience of some comic relief and the actor succeeds in it. Interval bang is just OK and the director should have etched the action episode in a much better way.
Post interval, tempo starts to increase when Prabhas' flash back is revealed. Director Koratala Siva tried to establish the character of Prabhas in this hour slowly and succeeds. Anushka Shetty's entry into the story adds much glamor into the story. Especially, the episodes between Prabhas and Anushka have been executed well. Nothing special about the climax episode but the dialogue “Veelaithe Preminchu, Maha aithe Emavthundhi,.... Thirigi Manalni Premistharu” stands out of all.
Teluguone Perspective :
Going by the posters and the promos, the audience were given a feel that 'Mirchi' is going to be one more mass entertainer from Prabhas. But after watching the movie, it can be clearly stated that 'Mirchi' is a mix of Family drama and mass elements. Nothing special to say about the directorial skills of Koratala Siva, who made his debut as the director with this film, but his dialogues must be appreciated.
As the film moves, it takes the audiences to several episodes of several movies. For instance, the episode between Prabhas-Subbaraju will make us remind of Student No .1, we get a flavor of 'Brundavanam' and 'Bindaas' when Prabhas come to Richa's village and finally the climax theme resembles to Dammu. In spite of all these elements, Prabhas performance can be termed as a perfect saving grace for the film. Songs are well picturised and especially 'Kaatuka Kallu' is the best of all. Prabhas chemistry with Anushka was good.
Performance:
Prabhas has delivered a commendable performance and looked stylish and handsome. Anushka has excelled in her character and she a delight to watch especially in songs. Richa Gangopadhyay is just OK. Sathyaraj is satisfactory and Nadiya made her presence felt. Rest of the artists played their part well.
Technicalities :
Cinematography by Madhe is neat and art by AS Prakash is ok. Devi Sri Prasad songs are too good, 'Kaatuka Kallu', 'Darlingey' are well picturised. Dialogues by Koratala Siva and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao are good. UV Creations production values are grand.
Positives :
Prabhas, Anushka Performances
Songs
Negatives:
Resemblances to many films
Predictable Scenes
Prolonged Story
Final Word : Mirchi can be watched for the good performances delivered by Prabhas and Anushka Shetty
Mirchi Movie Rating : 3.0/5
