Srimanthudu Audio: Warning Signs For DSP
on Jul 22, 2015
Foot tapping and soul lifting tunes laced with intense energy and bright voices is what everyone expects from Devi Sri Prasad always. He hasn’t missed the bar even this time as he comes up with a peppy album for Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu”. Still, there is a secret warning hovering around DSP through these tunes. Here it is.
Hangover of various other albums like S/o Satyamurthy, Jalsa and other hit albums of Devi Sri Prasad could be felt in some songs of Srimanthudu. There are beats copied from Tulasi, similar striking tunes from Yevadu, same kind of string work from Gabbar Singh too. In repeating tunes scored by them, we have a long list of music directors like RP Patnaik, Anup Rubens and our highly talented Thaman who finished scoring for 50 movies. Hope Devi won’t join that big list of directors.
Music lovers say that these days DSP is focusing more on lyrics, as he himself is writing few lines all the time, and then losing his watch on the tune. Though repetitive listening to Srimanthudu sounds all new, there are some sort of influences from his previous works. Watch out Devi.
