Luckunnodu Has Normal Story: Vishnu
Manvhu Vishnu’s latest film Luckunnodu is gearing up for release on January 26th. Hansika Motwani is female lead in the film directed by Raj Kiran. Here are excerpts from interview with Vishnu:
You’ve Got Less Time For Promotions, Won’t It Be A Problem?
We initially thought of releasing the film in December. But, then we had planned to release the film for Jan 26th. Though first copy was ready, we thought of releasing the film on February 3rd, due to some reasons. Fortunately, we have got the best time to release. So, we have preponed Luckunnodu to 26th. And I don’t think hurry in release won’t be a problem for us with TV and social media have become major media to promote films off late.
What Are The Highlights Of The Film?
For me dialogues provided by Diamond Ratnam were major highlight of the film. In fact, story was normal and regular, hilarious dialogues will make the difference. I thoroughly enjoyed when story with dialogues version was narrated to me.
Any Particular Reason For Choosing Hansika Again?
The film needs good chemistry and intimacy between the lead pair. I thought Hansika would fit the bill perfectly. I called and told her that, ‘I’ve got a good script, will you do it?’ She said, ‘why not, if you really liked the script.’ Luckily, her call sheets were free on required dates.
How The Notes Ban Has Affected Your Film?
We have actually shot few portions of the film with old notes and then with new currency notes. Old notes were then replaced with new ones in CG. Since, our film’s story is based on currency notes; it has become a big advantage for us.
How Was It Working With Director Raj Kiran?
He is a dedicated director. He dealt comedy sequences quite proficiently.
Will You Do Experimental Films In Future?
I have already worked in few experimental films such as Anukshanam and Rowdy. I don’t have any problems doing more experimental films, if scripts please me. I love to do mythological films.
Do You Think Luckunnodu Will Do Well In Tamil?
As the film’s story will suit sensibilities of Telugus and Tamils we have made it as Telugu, Tamil bilingual. I hope, it will do well in the three states. And the other reason is we encourage dubbing films, wherein Tamils will watch only straight films or bilinguals.
Will Your Father’s Dream Project Ravana Be Ever Made?
Yes, why not? Even dad is eager to do the film and is waiting for my nod. We’ll definitely do the film sometime in future.
Who will be directing your next project Bhakta Kannappa?
Tanikella Bharani has provided story. We will start pre-visualization process in April. Then, we will take the film to sets. As of now, director is not decided.
What Do You Say About Special Status Demand?
Jallikattu Movement has become super successful, because Tamil Nadu youth have protested in peaceful manner. In fact, India had got Independence, with agitations in non-violence method. It’s a good thing youth have initiated the protests with a demand of special status to the state. Their plea should be considered as the protests are to be done peacefully. What burns me more is the way central government treats us. We actually don’t have proper representation from south India.
