on Sep 29, 2016
It was Lata Mangeshkar’s 87th birthday yesterday and she was showered with greetings from the film fraternity to the political spectrum to the general public. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi too wished one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India, on birthday. “Spoke to Lata (Mangeshkar) Didi and conveyed birthday greetings to her. I pray for her long and healthy life,” Modi tweeted. The legendary singer while talking to a media house expressed her views on today's actress. "Today’s heroines aren’t like the earlier ones.
But that’s okay, since this generation is different too. I am against the kind of dresses actresses wear today). I don’t like them. But they are all doing good work. I also like the way Priyanka Chopra acts. She can slip into any role. I love Deepika Padukone too." she said. Asked about a biopic made on her she said, "I wouldn’t let a biopic be made on me. That’s because I don’t believe in them. I don’t like them. As you said, there are talks of a biopic on Guru Dutt being made… I’m certain that some unnecessary details will be included in the movie. I don’t approve of that," shared.
