Singer S Janaki Hospitalized

Popular playback singer S Janaki was hospitalized today. She slipped and fell in her hotel's bathroom in Tirupati. She suffered injuries on her head and rushed immediately to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) hospital. Her condition is very critical and she is undergoing treatment in ICU. She underwent an MRI scan and the doctors have identified a blood clot on her head. Janaki's son Murali Krishna said that she is recovering well and her condition is stable now. She came to Tirupati to perform in Annamayya Mahayagnam organized by her relative and Carnatic classical vocalist Garimella Balakrishna Prasad.
Janaki is fondly known as The Nightingale of South and her association with singer SP Balasubrahmaniam and maestro Ilayaraja is one the most popular musical combinations in Indian Cinema. TeluguOne.com prays for her speedy recovery.
