I was the first option for Ghajini, but I didn't liked the story: Madhavan

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, R. Madhavan's directorial debut, is now in theatres. With accolades pouring in for Madhavan's powerful acting yet again, the actor-filmmaker sat down for an Instagram live chat session with Suriya, during which the two discussed their works throughout the years.
During the Instagram live chat, Madhavan surprised fans by revealing that he was offered Suriya's role in the 2005 box office hit Ghajini but turned it down because he didn't like the story. He had expressed strong dissatisfaction with the'second half of the film' to director AR Murugadoss.
Suriya was cast in the role. Madhavan also recalled Suriya not eating salt for nearly a week, which made him realise the 'effort and hard work' he was putting in for the role.
"'Ghajini' becoming a hit was a very big thing," the actor added.
