Guru Dominates Baahubali

Victory Venkatesh’s Guru is turning out to be a profitable venture for producers as well as distributors. The film made on a decent budget has made stunning business at box office. The Sudha Kongara directed film is dominating the new releases of this week.

Many predicted Baahubali: The Beginning which re-released on last Friday will affect the collections of Guru and other recent outings. However, the Rajamouli directed film got lukewarm response in its re-release. Though makers thought with the second part is about to release, the re-release of first part will provide additional profits to them. But, they were proved wrong. Mani Ratnam’s Cheliyaa starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari is also ending as a disaster.

Venkatesh’s Guru is the only film running successfully. In its second week, the Ritika Singh co-starrer film is making reasonable business. So far, the film minted around Rs 15 crores share is expected to collect 3 to 4 crores for the full run.
