Gautham Vasudev Menon breaks his rule for Thalapathy69
on Oct 3, 2024
Gautham Vasudev Menon is one among the biggest and highly popular directors of Indian Cinema. He has been going through a tough phase in his career as a director. His long delayed Dhruva Natchitram has pushed him into such financial troubles that he has decided to work as an actor for few years taking a break from direction and writing.
After his failed attempts at releasing the movie multiple times in 2023, he has decided to concentrate only on direction and not act anymore. In 2024, he appeared in very less number of films. But for Thalapathy69, the supposed last film of Thalapathy Vijay, he has broken his rule and decided to act. He revealed in his previous interviews that he has high regards for directors like Vetrimaaran, H. Vinoth and Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Interestingly, he has been cast in Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, starring Thalapathy Vijay as well. The director stated that Viduthalai-2 will be almost his last film as an actor for a while, as he has already given commitment to director Vetrimaaran. He stated that he wants to explore his creativity and directing side further.
But now, he has changed his mind for H. Vinoth and Thalapathy Vijay. He is currently directing a Malayalam film with Mammootty. While many anticipated SJ Suryah to be cast in the ensemble, KVN Productions has delivered a googly with GVM's inclusion. Bobby Deol, Mamatha Baiju, Pooja Hegde have been confirmed to be part of the cast by the producers, till date. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring music for the film.
