As most their previous film have done well at the box-office, good expectations are raised on the movie. Navel beauty Ileana is an added attraction for the film and lets get into the review of “Devudu Chesina Manushulu (DCM)” to know more about the movie.
Story :
Ravi Teja (Ravi Teja) is a settlement maker and mediates works within the goons. Ileana(Ileana) is a taxi driver in Bangkok. Story begins with Lord Balaji (Brahmanandam) showing the lives of Ravi Teja and Ileana, to his wife Lakshmi (Kovai Sarala) and how both Ravi Teja and Ileana fell in love. Both the hero and the heroine are orphans and they love to talk with themselves most of the time. Fate takes Ravi Teja to Bangkok on some work and there he meets Ileana and falls for her. Will Ravi Teja succeed in wooing Ileana? What are the situations that leaded Ravi Teja to go to Bangkok form rest of the story.
Analysis :
The first half of 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' goes entertaining with some romantic scenes between Ravi Teja and Ileana. Most part of the movie has been shot in Bangkok. As informed earlier, Director Puri Jagannath started 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' without any story and has banked completely on entertainment. As the story is cockeyed, film falls flat after some time inspite of entertainment. All the 3 songs in the first half are picturised well. Pre climax twist is good and raises huge expectations on the second half.
Second half of the movie falls flat with predictable scenes. Though the entertainment quotient is good in the second half, lack of story will kill the interest on the movie. Director Puri Jagannath has well etched the characters of Ravi Teja and Ileana but most of the scenes in the second half seems to be dragged unnecessarily. Technically, there is nothing to blame Puri Jagannath, but the film without any kind of story need lots of care to be taken.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Director Puri Jagannath started the movie with a message “Watch this film if you really believe that God exists and you will not get any doubts”. For a film without any story, Puri Jagannath tried to add loads of entertainment. Problem with 'DCM' is the movie lacks the required trigger to create interest and to sustain curiosity. Item girl Gabriela Bertante looked raunchy in the item number “Disturb setthunade”. 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' looks good only in parts because of the lead roles done by Ravi Teja and Ileana. For the films like 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu', script should be tightly knitted without much loopholes and director Puri Jagannath has failed in doing that. Verdict of “Devudu Chesina Manushulu (DCM)” depends on the audience and they can enjoy the movie only if they can connect to the message given by Puri Jagannath at the beginning of the movie.
Performances :
Its a cakewalk character for Ravi Teja and he has done his job. Though Ravi Teja looked older in some scenes, his dynamic body language has covered it off. Ileana has given a splendid performance. She has got a beautiful look in the songs and bold look in the movie. Prakash Raj is entertaining as usual. Brahmanandam, Ali, Kovai Sarala will bring some smiles. Subba Raju and Fish Venkat are good.
Technicalities :
Nothing to blame Puri Jagannath as a director, but it would have been better if some kind of story was there in the movie. Cinematography by Sam K Naidu is good and Editing by Sekhar is adequate. Raghu Kunche's songs are good. Production values of SVCC banner are up to the mark.
