Devara, starring man of masses NTR, is directed by the masterful Koratala Siva. This movie promises to be a global spectacle. Devara is a highly anticipated film presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram while it is bankrolled under the banner of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts.
Mikkilineni Sudhakar and Hari Krishna K are the producers. Janhvi Kapoor is cast as the leading lady, while versatile star Saif Ali Khan, is set to entertain in a key role. The film had grand release yesterday and opened with mixed talk from audience. Fans enjoying the NTR's powerful performance and Anirudh's music.
NTR is in USA and he completed the premiere in LA. The film had sensational opening as every theatre it played became housefull. Audience flocked to theatres to witness the fury of NTR after 6 years wait for the solo release. The collections are record breaking.
The film had a grand release across cinemas in India and it made a net total of Rs 77 crore at the domestic market, in all languages. The film crossed global box office collection of 172 crores gross making it second highest day 1 grosser after RRR. The movie is hitting the right chord and it was expected, more so in the Telugu and Tamil markets.
However, even the Hindi version of the movie has done quite well and exceeded expectations. 'Devara' in Hindi had a business of around Rs 7 crore on Friday which is great as many Hindi fims have also not that opening in recent times. This is possibly due to NTR's growing popularity in the northern parts of the country, post 'RRR'.
Devara will continue this sensation for two more days and we have to wait and see how it will perform on Monday. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Ajay, Getup Srinu, and others. Sreekar Prasad is handling the editing works, R. Rathnavelu is acting as the cinematographer, and Sabu Cyril is the production designer.
