Cockroach completes censor and ready for release

on Feb 7, 2026

Set against the backdrop of a society that shuns and stigmatizes the so-called “dirty” people, Cockroach is a beautiful love story that unfolds in the margins. It narrates the pure friendship between a street-side sex worker and a contract killer—an unlikely bond that questions the moral decay of a corrupt and rotten social system.

Cockroach is a hard-hitting film that introduces audiences to the dense darkness of a morally bankrupt society. While people applaud the killing of a cockroach and write poetry about butterflies, the film questions this hypocrisy through its characters.

Directed by P. Suneel Kumar Reddy and produced by B. Bapiraju under the banner Sri Lakshmi Pictures, Cockroach has successfully completed its censor formalities. The Central Board of Film Certification has awarded the film an “A” (Adults Only) certificate. The director and producers have respectfully requested, through the press, that sensitive viewers and children refrain from watching the film.

The makers have announced that preparations are underway to release the film in theatres in the first week of March. To portray the violent confrontations in the film with authenticity, real fighters were cast as actors. Abhilash Sunkara, Premasan, and Naveen appear as contract killers inspired by real life.

Award winning actress Teertha (for Sontha Ooru) plays a key role. Other important roles are played by Meenakshi, Raman, Bugatha, Anji Gagan, Pradeep, Samudram Venkatesh, Mallika, FM Babai, Raju, Balaji, LB Ramana, RK Singh, Pooja, Potti Murthy, Prasad, Relare Raghu troupe, Johnny, and others.
