Cigarette Is Important In Film -Ram

Next Friday, we'll have Ram's "Shivam" hitting cinemas. On October 2nd, the film will be coming to theatres across the globe. Directed by newcomer Srinivas Reddy, the film seems to be a proper commercial entertainer. But it could be noticed that Ram is smoking a lot in the film, if we have to go by the trailers.
"Actually I don't encourage smoking and all, even in films. But this script has demanded a character that smokes cigarettes. So by adding those warnings on the bottom of the screen, I've continued smoking. Somehow for the sake of script we can't avoid it", said Ram today, while interacting with the media.
These days almost every hero is back to smoking and drinking on silver screen, albeit with a warning at the bottom of the screen. Consciously couldn't they take decision to not smoke on screen at least?
