on Aug 22, 2015
Megastar Chiranjeevi. A name that a box office gets shaken automatically to print numbers. A name any story would get written automatically with best of the dialogue and screenplay to suit his body language. For 20 years and more, a name that remained the No.1 of Telugu cinema. Not just hits, but experiments, introducing new dances, and picking up talents are attached to his name. And for this man, the legend, age is just a number, as he turns 60 years today.
August 22, 1955 marked the arrival of the future King of Telugu cinema onto this earth. Today Chiranjeevi celebrates his 60th birthday. Throughout his cinema career, he enthralled fans like anything else. Starting with some negative characters to pushing leaps and bounds to become the Megastar of Tollywood is a big achievement. That’s the era of NTRs and ANRs, followed by Krishna’s, and it’s tough for a man with ordinary looks and simple demeanour to crack big things. But Chiranjeevi simply pierced through everything, rose to heights, scaled achievements and became the No.1 actor who charges more remuneration that Amitabh Bachhan in India.
At the same time, Charity always took centre stage when it comes to Chiru. Through Blood Bank and Eye Bank, he’s done a wonderful job, say what critics may. However his political stint has a better turnout because of his poor decisions. No doubt, he failed to score in politics like other film stars, NTR, MGR and Jaya. But the name Chiru is legendary if it is cinema.
Yesterday the whole of fans have celebrated this happiness at an event in Hyderabad where Chiru gave his emotional speech. From the last few decades, he’s delivering many such speeches along with the movies, but yesterday’s one is special. “In my next birth, I want to take birth as mega fan and some of you as Megastar, such that I could express this gratitude”, he says, while concluding.
teluguone.com wishes Megastar Chiranjeevi a happy birthday.
