Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin was born 125 years ago today, on April 16, 1889. An English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the silent era. Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona "the Tramp" and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry. His style of comedy and acting has inspired many Indian actors including Kamal Haasan , senior comedian Nagesh and in the movie Mr India, Sridevi does an imitation of Charlie Chaplin to the hilt. His style of visual, slapstick comedy, as well as his legendary hat and mustache made him one of the most recognizable pop icons of all time
