Bangaru Kodi petta Review: Raj of Sumanth's Boni fame, is back with a movie titled 'Bangaru Kodi petta'. Raj has written and directed this movie starring Navdeep and Swathi in the lead. Raj's last film failed to reach standard of quality cinema, does it live up to the expectations?
Story:
Bhanu (Swathi) Sales Executive in Energee drinks gets removed due to her fake certificates. Vasmi (Navdeep) falls in love with her, but she neglects him as he never cared about his life. But unknowingly Bhanu gets a plan to take Sankranti offer Gold Bars and Coins of Energee drinks. In the meantime, Dorababu (Ram) falls into trap of Bheemavaram goon and plans to recover his money issues with the help of Errababu's Kodipetta. But unluckily he gets kidnapped with Errababu's daughter at goons place. Simultaneously Venu (Santosh) an aspiring actor gets kidnapped with Dorababu, but he gets the plan to steal the ransom money from Errababu. All the stories get together in the climax. How Vamsi and Swathi steal Gold bars from Energee truck? How did Venu steal the money? WIll Dorababu survive from goons place? What happens next forms the rest of the movie...
Performances:
Amongst the performances, Navdeep is good in his role. His mannerisms and comic timing is top notch. Harshavardhan is great in a limited role. Swathi has no promising character, expresses well through his eyes and expressions. The chemistry between Navdeep and Swathi is okay. Ram Laxman are a treat to watch. Santosh (Golconda High School fame) looks good, acts ably.
Prospective:
The movie starts off fine, the first half is a romantic comedy with the main lead Navdeep involving in a robbery plan with the girl he loves the most. It's funny at times. The second half has gets together all the four character where it fails to elevate the first half base. As most of what followed in the second half is a consequence of the Navdeep - Santosh's story, isn't convincing. Overall though, the first half is entertaining. The second half is emotional (which is okay), a bit too long and very predictable. The execution of the script by the director especially in the second half could have been better. The editing too could have been much crisper. The music and locations, well it's almost like a world tour with a song in every single location. Two songs stand out, the classic Bullipitta and Yedho. The cinematography is Neat; the locales of Hyderabad and Bheemavaram have been beautifully captured.
Analysis:
Bangaru Kodipetta is a light entertainer, a simple love story without glitz, glamour and looting. But the major problem with Bangaru Kodipetta is its pace, it gets terribly boring in most parts of the first half and major parts of the second. The music, key to a movie of this genre, is average. But never breaks the flow of the film. The chemistry between the lead pair is fun. Except for one moment at staircase, the leads scenes are filled with fine moments that are fun. It makes you feel for the characters.
Technicalities: The Cinematography and Music are major highlights of the film. Rests of the technicalities are okay. Editing could have been better in the second half. Choreography is good. Costumes are trendy and BGM suited the mood of the film.
Plus: Lead Pair
Comedy in parts
Music and Cinematography
Minus: Slow Narration
Lagging Second half
Bangaru Kodipetta TeluguOne Rating: 2.5/5
Bottomline: Bangaru Kodipetta is a fine movie which had potential to be much better. It would garner mixed reactions.
