Are Kanguva makers putting false blame on Vijay, Ajith fans and politics?
on Nov 26, 2024
Kanguva makers are completely in shock after the overwhelming negative response for the film. From the first show itself, the movie has been gaining intense negative reactions and hence, the makers have been pushed to do damage control. They have stated that sound problem can be corrected by reducing sound in theatres.
They kept stating that family audiences would love the film. But after two weeks, now, they started talking about targeted hatred and abuse. The movie did receive unanticipated level of abusive reactions from all quarters and some people have even threatened to kill director Siva for making such an abysmal film.
Suriya, who gave two years of his time and even transformed his look with a six pack at the age of 50 years. He promoted the film all over India with huge enthusiasm promising that it will be a Baahubali type of film for Kollywood. He did his best to take the film to audiences but it failed from the first day first show as well.
Dhananjayan, movie producer, who is working as CEO at Studio Green film production company, owned by KE Gnanavelraja, talked about the movie and effects of concentrated hatred directed towards it. He agreed that the loud sound is an issue and opined that even 3D conversion has been an issue for the film.
He stated that the movie did not need 3D and even agreed that the movie did not collect at Box Office at anticipated level. He also stated that Ajith and Vijay fans have been unable to digest the growth of Suriya and trying to target his films from 2014. Also, he stated that political parties have also tried to target Kanguva.
Now, he stated that they have taken the issue of targeted hatred and abusive comments to Producer Council. He explained that they did not want to stop people from taking opinions at theatres but the YouTube channels have been encouraging it for views and hence, they have taken a decision to stop such people.
Well, even with all these issues, movie could have been a hit or blockbuster had it been good enough. While they too agree that film had issues they are unable to digest the overwhelming negative response yet. They do have a point about targeted hatred and abusive comments, though.
Yes, when people see that negativity is able to get views and attention, people do try to encourage it. Maybe some YouTube channels should not lose their integrity for views and a level of maturity needs to be practiced while talking about films and projecting an objective view about how a film is, that too, on first day.
