Akshay Kumar plans to take comedy route seriously

Akshay Kumar has become the most sought after box office star after his films started becoming box office successes back to back. The major part of those successes have been comic films. But the actor started looking at action entertainers and biopics as comedy entertainers became routine.

Now, as the biopics, action films and even serious film remakes stopped working, he has decided to go for comedy entertainers that too sequels to his older hit films. Bhool Bhulaiyaa has become a franchise now, but he is not part of it. So, he wants to find another such franchise that does have a repeat value like Hera Pheri.

Even though Bhagam Bhag did not become a huge blockbuster like Hera Pheri, several scenes are still referred from the film as Memes. So, he is bringing back the gang of actors that is, Govinda and Paresh Rawal back on board with himself for the sequel.

The original is directed by Priyadarshan, who adapted Malayalam comedy hits to Bollywood screens with Akshay. It is not confirmed who will direct but Akshay will be a producer as he bought the rights from Shemaroo. Already writers have been appointed to write sequels and official announcement could come soon. He has plans to make sequels for other hits too.
