2024 Roundup: Allu Arjun emerges biggest star

As the year 2024 is coming to an end, we can talk about the biggest performers in Indian Cinema. At a glance, we can say that Bollywood has once again disappointed trade experts after a sensational 2023. Except for Stree 2, not many films have been able to really deliver a big blockbuster success that collects Rs.1000 crores.
Even Stree 2 did not collect Rs.1000 crores but in Hindi markets it crossed over Rs.550 crores Nett collections and collected huge Rs.850 - 874 crores gross worldwide. In 2023, Bollywood had SRK hitting Rs.1000 crores twice with Pathaan, Jawan and even Ranbir Kapoor's Animal crossed Rs.900 crores gross worldwide.
Sunny Deol delivered a surprise huge blockbuster with Gadar 2. But in 2024, SRK did not have any release and Aamir Khan did not have any release. Salman Khan just appeared in Singham Again and will appear in Baby John in cameos. With three big Khans not releasing any movie, Bollywood struggled even big time.
Ranbir Kapoor also did not release any movie. Ranveer Singh did come up with an extended cameo in Singham Again but the movie did not even collect Rs.400 crores gross. The second highest grosser for Bollywood is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Rs.418 crores gross worldwide.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule has opened with Rs.290 crores gross worldwide on Day one and annhilated all records. The actor has become the biggest star of Indian Cinema for this year. The movie is performing strong in Hindi markets which is set to cross Rs.600 crores Nett collections.
Well, Akshay Kumar has consolidated his position has a star on decline with his big movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan becoming huge disaster. Ajay Devgn had a better year with Shaitaan and Singham Again collecting hundreds of crores. Hrithik Roshan with Fighter showcased his star power but overall Bollywood ended struggling again.
