Megastar Chiranjeevi's family has received a prestigious honour as his wife, Surekha Konidela, has been appointed as a member of the newly constituted governing board of the Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple by the Telangana government.

The state government recently announced the formation of the 18-member temple board to oversee the administration and development of the famous shrine. Industrialist M. Satyanarayana Reddy has been named the chairman, while Surekha Konidela is among the prominent members entrusted with the responsibility.

Apart from the nominated members, the board also comprises ex-officio members, including the Telangana Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary of the Revenue (Endowments) Department, Endowments Commissioner, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District Collector, Vice Chairman of the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority, the temple's Executive Officer and the senior-most chief priest. The tenure of the newly appointed members will be for two years.

The board will play a key role in supervising temple administration, development projects, pilgrim amenities and religious activities. The newly appointed members are expected to take oath and officially assume charge shortly. Yadagirigutta, officially known as Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, has become one of Telangana's most prominent pilgrimage centres following its large-scale redevelopment.
