Updated : Jun 30, 2026

Director Sudha Kongara has approached the Madras High Court over alleged non-payment of her remuneration for Parasakthi. The filmmaker has claimed that she is yet to receive ₹8.39 crore from the film's producer and has sought legal intervention to recover the dues.

According to reports, Sudha filed a petition against producer Aakash Baskaran, stating that despite repeated requests, the agreed remuneration remains unpaid. She also sought an interim direction restraining the producer from releasing his next production, Idhayam Murali, until the outstanding amount is cleared.

The Madras High Court, however, did not grant an interim stay on the release of Idhayam Murali. Instead, it has taken up the matter for hearing and is expected to hear the case further on July 8. Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, has already witnessed its share of legal hurdles.

Ahead of its release, the film faced a copyright dispute after a writer alleged that the story resembled his work. The court later refused to stay the film's release, allowing it to hit theatres as scheduled. The latest development has once again put Parasakthi in the spotlight, this time over a financial dispute.
